The electricity companies, the autonomous communities and the industry come together to send a message to the Government. They request priority for industrial projects in access to the electrical network within the specific modification to the Electricity Planning with a horizon of 2026 recently released to public information by the Executive.
The energy sector has been warning for a long time that the current electrical networks and connection points are not sufficient for the new needs arising from industrial demand (data centers, electrolyzers, new demand that wants to decarbonize, etc.). In this sense, the sources consulted by La Información indicate that, currently, network requests are essentially to connect generation, about nine out of ten, which prevents attracting industry. “There are industrial requests that would imply a percentage of around 70% above the maximum current demand,” they say.
Thus, they explain the lack of connection for new distribution/industrial demand. The current
